Nintendo Reverse Their Decision to Discontinue Metroid Prime Trilogy in the UK
To begin, we're just as confused as you with this whole Metroid Prime Trilogy debacle. Apparently it's now available again in the UK, after seemingly being discontinued.
It began a few weeks back with Nintendo of America announcing the end of the production of Metroid Prime Trilogy, as they always intended to give it a limited release. It looked, at that point, as if all three games would be split up and the first two sold as New Play Control. We then heard on the GoNintendo podcast that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption had been discontinued in the States, which meant it was completely unavailable, despite being less that 3 years old. That didn't really make sense.
Anyway, jump forward about a week and Nintendo of Europe said Metroid Prime Trilogy was "no longer being shipped". Nintendo of Australia then appeared to follow their lead; however, they did not make a separate announcement.
Earlier this week Nintendo of Europe told Eurogamer that Metroid Prime Trilogy was still available and could be ordered by retailers, contradicting the comments of their rep a few weeks back.
