Das ultimative Tennisspiel?

Letzte Woche kündigte SEGA die Fortsetzung der beliebten Tennis-Serie Virtua Tennis 2009 für Xbox360 und Playstation 3 an. Kein Wort fiel über eine mögliche Wii-Version, obwohl diese sich quasi aufdrängte und SEGA der kleinen, weißen Konsole zuletzt großen Support entgegenbrachte.

Warum kein Wort über eine Wii-Fassung verloren wurde, ist nach wie vor ungeklärt, aber immerhin steht inzwischen fest, dass es auch eine solche geben wird. Wie die Nintendo Power in ihrer aktuellen Ausgabe berichtet, befindet sich Virtua Tennis 2009 auch für die Wii in Entwicklung und wird Wii MotionPlus unterstützen. Aktuell werkelt auch EA an einem Wii-exklusiven Tennisspiel namens EA Tennis, welches ebenfalls Wii MotionPlus unterstützen soll.
Es bleibt abzuwarten, welches der beiden Spiele zuerst erscheinen wird. Ein Releasedatum oder gar weitere Infos nannte die Nintendo Power nicht.

The subtlety and skill in each stroke ushers in a new era for tennis videogames.

And here's the best part: controls and graphics aside, the Wii version has 100 per cent of the content and modes of the PS3, 360 and PC releases, online included.

As soon as you've made the subtle shift in perspective - as soon as you've understood that the machine is no longer reading sign-language in your gestures, it's actually following your movements from one microsecond to the next - it clicks. And it's extraordinarily natural.

You need to point at your player to re-calibrate the controller between shots, but aside from that, it's entirely transparent.

Ich find es super, dass Tennislegenden wie Edberg und Becker dabei sind. So schrullig Becker auch ist, als Tennisspieler war er grandios.

Abgesehen davon ist er für den deutschen Markt wohl ziemlich wichtig.
