Young Conker” and “Fragments” Game Listings Datamined From Microsoft Store

Microsoft Store may be hinting to some upcoming announcements. Earlier today, diligent NeoGAF users SPDIF and Boo Boo’n managed to find hidden listings on Microsoft’s digital storefront, Microsoft Store. What they found were two listings: “Fragments” and “Young Conker.”

Why are these listings possibly significant? Both were found under the Games section of the store, as compared to other datamined programs (i.e. HoloStudio which is under Apps).

Microsoft filed for the trademark “Fragments” nearly a month ago under Class 9 and Class 41. The listing (as seen below) is rated Mature, though all of this seems like a placeholder, so I wouldn’t put too much weight behind the ESRB rating.

Meanwhile, nothing has been mentioned to date about “Young Conker,” though many are speculating it could be the revitalization of the Conker series. The last real Conker game launched in 2005 (Conker: Live & Reloaded), however Project Spark featured a DLC pack titled Conker’s Big Reunion last year. Notably, the listing has a Teen ESRB rating, yet most Conker games are infamously mature. Though, as mentioned above, everything seems like a placeholder so no need to put too much stock in it. Or perhaps this is a different “Conker” entirely.

The listings have been subsequently removed once discovered. Because all we have are bare-bones listings, take all this news with the largest grain of salt. Nor does it mention –if true– whether this is a PC, mobile, Xbox, or HoloLens game. In addition to these listings, Microsoft has recently trademarked “Roboraid” and re-trademarked “Phantom Dust.” What do you think of these Microsoft Store listings? Is Microsoft coming to E3 with a loaded schedule?

The theory going around is that it's the link between Twelve/Pocket Tales & Bad Fur Day, aka how Conker went from being a sweet kids character to his current form.

OMG, ein neues Conkers... das wäre sowas von [ externes Bild ]

Hololens Release Games Lineup Revealed

Microsoft’s press conference last week was billed as an Xbox One and Windows 10 event but the upcoming Hololens made some news for itself as well. In fact, preorders for the augmented reality device began on Monday, February 29th according to an article from Fortune which was quickly pulled. Several users from Reddit had already spotted the article and shared the contents. The Hololens Development Edition carries a $3,000 price tag and is packed with a mindboggling amount of documentation and instructional videos to help developers create applications for the device. We can now tell you that three games from Microsoft will be included with the Development Edition.

Young Conker – The rude and crude squirrel is ready for a new adventure… in your living room! The area around you is transformed into a level for Conker to explore. This means the game should have considerable replay valuenas different rooms represent entirely new levels.“It is amazing how different the play experience feels based on playing the game in your living room versus your kitchen or your bedroom. Even starting the game from a different position in a single room creates an entirely new gameplay dynamic,” Tsunoda wrote.

Alan Wake wird Xbox/Windows 10 only, da bin ich mir sicher.
Remedy ist mittlerweile zu stark mit MS verbandelt.

Alan Wake's Return Trademark is not for a game

It looks like we'll be waiting a bit longer for an Alan Wake sequel.

A trademark was spotted last month for "Alan Wake's Return," however, developer Remedy has clarified that it's not for a new game.

According to Kotaku, the trademark is for an in-game live-action video series starring Sam Lake, Remedy's creative director. "A big part of the trademarking process all in all is the legalities of it," Lake said to Kotaku. "Just making sure everything is covered."

Lake said there is "no real news about anything future Alan Wake-related." However, he didn't shut down the possibility of the franchise continuing, saying "we are exploring possibilities and concepting different things, but lots needs to click into place for anything to happen. We will be the first to talk about it when there is something definite to talk about."

Moving forward, we want to create more games and hopefully get them out more often. In order to achieve this,
Remedy has expanded into two game development teams.

For a while now already, we’ve been developing a brand new Remedy game with a new partner. Our second team is
working on an early concept
, which will turn into another Remedy game sometime in the future.

We can’t wait to show and tell you more about these new projects, but if there’s anything we’ve learned from the past,
it’s that we should have the patience to announce games when they’re ready enough.
So don’t expect us take the stage at E3 or gamescom this year.

[...]

Finally, we feel that it’s important to set the expectations right and let you, the fans, know that neither of the two projects
currently in development is an Alan Wake game
. We’re working on something else, but at the same time we’re exploring
opportunities in other mediums to tell more Alan Wake stories.

No more MS
2 neue Spiele
Kein Alan Wake
