Ich bin kein Freund von Pachter, aber hier hat er ausnahmsweise mal Recht. WiiU verkauft sich einfach zu schlecht und daran wird sich nichts mehr ändern. Nintendo wird zum Weihnachtsgeschäft sicherlich einige WiiUs verkaufen können, aber der Zug ist nach 3 Jahren endgültig abgefahren. Natürlich Schade, aber das ist Wettbewerb und es wurden zu viele Fehler gemacht. Das gleiche gilt für die PSVita, da sieht es in Europa inzwischen richtig übel aus.

Der Artikel ist sicherlich nicht Nintendo Feindlich sondern sagt größtenteils die Wahrheit. Der 3DS bzw. N3DS verkauft sich aber sehr gut und auch mit den Amiibo Figuren ist Nintendo äußerst erfolgreich. Ich sehe Nintendo da nicht wirklich in der Krise nur weil sie mal 3 Jahre lang Verlust gemacht hatten (wie auch Microsoft oder Sony in der Anfangsphase der PS3).

Mario Kart 8" gehörte zu den weltweit zehn meistverkauften Spielen des Jahres 2014.

Die Verkäufe von MK8 sind gemessen an der geringen Verbreitung der WiiU Hardware überragend. Das gilt auch für die anderen Nintendo Titel.

Tatsumi Kimishima Confirms That Nintendo Direct Will Return, With "At Least One" This Year

Just recently we wrote about the continued desperation for a new Nintendo Direct, with a mix of circumstances meaning that there's been no such presentation since the E3 'Digital Event' in June. It always seemed likely that Nintendo would return with the hugely popular series, but there's always some nagging doubt until it's announced.
We may not yet know when the next broadcast is, but there is some confirmation that Direct will return. Takashi Mochizuki of The Wall Street Journal was at Nintendo's financial results press conference and has reported the Nintendo President and CEO - Tatsumi Kimishima - as saying the following.

That's certainly pleasing - if not necessarily hugely surprising - news. A broadcast will hopefully come soon, too, in order to build some hype and anticipation for the Holiday season; an additional festive broadcast in mid-December, as we had in the past with a few late year and early New Year surprises, would also be more than welcome.

Nintendo Is Profitable This Financial Quarter

For those worried about Nintendo this quarter, don’t be. Nintendo has released their financial results for the second quarter of 2015 (July 1 to September 30) showing they are once again financially profitable. After the quarter, Nintendo has ended off with 113.959 billion yen ($947 million US) in net sales, 7.28 billion yen ($65 million US) operating profit, and 3.182 billion yen ($26.4 million US) net profit. Accordingly, Nintendo is foreseeing a rosier future and have changed their 2015 projections to be slightly upward.

In terms of console sales, the Nintendo 3DS is up another 2.28 million units since last quarter and Wii U is up 1.19 million units — this makes the total number sold 54 million and 10.73 million, respectively. Amiibo sales figures are 21 million with “robust” success for the amiibo card line. Additionally, both Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer and Super Mario Maker have joined in the one-million club selling 2.02 million and 1.88 million, respectively.

Last but not least, Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima assures that he will be talking about Nintendo and DeNA’s mobile game later today — no word on Nintendo’s loyalty system.

Other Nintendo Strategy Briefing Notes

Nintendo’s new account system, officially titled “Nintendo Account” (ニンテンドーアカウント), will connect users of Nintendo hardware, smart devices, and PCs. Members will be able to sign in with their Nintendo Network ID, a user name and password, and Facebook, Twitter, and Google accounts. Nintendo Account launches alongside Miitomo March 2016.

Club Nintendo’s replacement service, called “My Nintendo” (マイニンテンドー),” will also arrive March 2016. By purchasing and playing software, members will earn points, which can then be used to obtain digital add-on content, original merchandise, or a coupon, which can be used as a discount for new software.

Nintendo will use a cloud-based data service to transfer game data between mobile games and console games.

Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima told investors and analysts that unannounced titles are coming to both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS during the 2015 holiday season to promote the hardware.

Kimishima also notes that 70 percent of Animal Crossing fans in Japan are women, and that Nintendo will be “pushing more games to win more women users this Christmas.”

Kimishima said Nintendo is struggling to meet demand for Animal Crossing amiibo cards. He added that sales for a new round of shipments will start today.

A chart was shown for global digital eShop purchases, with sales for downloadable software increasing more and more each year.

“Tough times are ahead for Nintendo’s Wii U console and 3DS handheld device because rivals are already moving on to the next-generation technology, such as virtual reality,” said Osamu Kamada, an analyst with Tokai Tokyo Securities.
